Wang Xiaorong
A contemporary Chinese artist who constructs traces of time and spaces of memory through paper, fiber, and mixed-media assemblage.
Wang Xiaorong is a contemporary Chinese artist born in Shaanxi, China. She graduated from Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in 1997 and pursued further studies at the renowned Russian Artists Studio of the Chinese National Academy of Arts in 2006. She is a member of the Shaanxi Artists Association, the Hudson Artists Association of New York, and the World Peace Artists Alliance.
For many years, Wang has explored the expressive potential of materials and spatial construction. Working with xuan paper, fibers, canvas, and mixed media, she develops a distinctive visual language through tearing, burning, layering, collage, and reconstruction.
Her practice centers on the themes of time, memory, and existence. Through accumulated textures and stratified structures, paper transcends its traditional role as a support and becomes a carrier of traces, experiences, and emotions. Situated between painting, material-based art, and spatial expression, her works embody a unique dialogue between Eastern sensibility and contemporary artistic language.
Wang Xiaorong is a contemporary Chinese mixed-media artist whose practice explores time, memory, and existence through paper, fiber, and layered material assemblage. By combining burning, collage, reconstruction, and spatial composition, she creates abstract works that bridge material experimentation and poetic contemplation.
