Hu Qian, known professionally as Lin Xizi, is an interdisciplinary artist, songwriter, singer, and poet based in China.

Working across painting, contemporary ink, mixed media, paper sculpture, and light-based installations, she regards music, poetry, and visual art as interconnected forms of expression. Through travel and artist residencies, she draws inspiration from diverse cultural environments and lived experiences.

Since turning her focus toward visual art in 2018, her practice has evolved from oil painting and acrylic works to contemporary ink, handmade paper, paper sculpture, and light installations. Centered on the question “How does observation shape the world?”, her work explores the relationship between perception, memory, and the formation of meaning through paper, fiber, ink, and light.

Her works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in China and abroad, including the Chinese Expressionist Painting Touring Exhibition, the Independent Spirit Exhibition in New York, the Louvre Autumn Exhibition, the Jinan Abstract Art Exhibition, Art Songzhuang Annual Exhibition, Beijing Art Expo, Chengdu Art Expo, and Qingdao International Art Annual Exhibition. Her work Moonlight was collected by Shangshang Art Museum.
