Zhang Yucong (b. 1971, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China) is a contemporary painter whose work explores cultural memory, spiritual belonging, and the human condition through expressive painterly language.
 
Graduating from Suzhou Arts and Crafts School and Nanjing Normal University, he further pursued advanced studies at the Oil Painting Department of the China Academy of Art and the Oil Painting Technique Program of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
 
For more than two decades, Zhang has developed an artistic practice centered on garden imagery as a metaphorical framework for constructing psychological and spiritual landscapes. Through major series including Departure, Continuing Passage, Imagined Realms, and Transcendent Realms, he reflects on the disappearance of traditional cultural values, the fragility of memory, and the ongoing search for a spiritual homeland.
 
His works have been exhibited widely in China and abroad, including exhibitions related to Chinese Imagistic Expressionism and international art projects in Milan and London. He is a member of the Jiangsu Artists Association, a researcher at the Beijing Oil Painting Academy of the Xu Beihong Academy, and a member of the International Association of Designers and Artists (France).
