Xie Yongsheng (b. 1961, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China) graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts and currently lives and works in Songzhuang, Beijing. As an exclusive artist represented by Goude Gallery from 2021 to 2024, he has been active in the contemporary art scene since the 1990s, exhibiting widely across China and internationally, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Taiwan. His works have also appeared in numerous art fairs and auction events.

Throughout his career, Xie has explored the relationship between traditional Chinese culture and contemporary visual expression. Drawing inspiration from the philosophy of Taiji, particularly its concepts of balance, movement, and harmony, he has developed a highly recognizable artistic language. His paintings are centered on iconic young female figures whose innocence, vitality, and playfulness create poetic worlds filled with warmth, imagination, and emotional resonance.

Traditional cultural motifs such as Chinese opera, qipao fashion, lotus imagery, and classical aesthetics frequently appear in his work. Rather than treating tradition as a historical relic, Xie reinterprets it through a contemporary lens, transforming cultural memory into accessible visual narratives. Series including Opera, Qipao, Sisters, and Homage to Leonardo da Vinci demonstrate his ongoing effort to bridge tradition and modernity while celebrating vitality, harmony, and the enduring spirit of life.
