Li Jianlin
Born in Chenzhou, Hunan, China, in 1961.
Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Hunan Normal University in 1982.
Member of the Hunan Artists Association, Council Member of the Hunan Oil Painting Society, and Member of the China Imagery Oil Painting Research Association. He is an independent artist currently living and working in Songzhuang, Beijing.
Since the late 1990s, Li Jianlin has continuously focused on artistic creation centered on urban women, gradually developing a distinctive visual language that combines female figures with recurring canine imagery. After establishing his studio in Songzhuang, Beijing, in 2011, his practice increasingly shifted toward contemporary artistic expression, leading to the creation of series such as Showground Series, New Interpretations of Chinese Heritage Series, and Fish Series.
His works have been selected for numerous provincial and national exhibitions, receiving awards and entering public and private collections in China and abroad.
Li Jianlin is a contemporary Chinese figurative painter based in Songzhuang, Beijing. Through recurring images of urban women and canine symbolism, his paintings explore identity, desire, and psychological conditions in contemporary urban society. Major bodies of work include the Urban Landscape, Showground, New Interpretations of Chinese Heritage, and Fish series.
